(via GiantBomb) -- He takes it personal. Real personal.

Need for Speed Goes Deep
(via GiantBomb) - Welcome to the Tri-City Bay Area. As much as I enjoyed stuff like Hot Pursuit, the Need for Speed series really came into its own for me with Need for Speed: Most Wanted. The open-world format and the cop-baiting mission structure made for some thrilling gameplay, but apparently what my driving games had been missing all along were really phony, overacted live-action cutscenes.

Bionic Commando Has Multiplayer
(via GiantBomb) - This isn't actually the multiplayer. I don't cotton to the idea that you need to shoehorn multiplayer into every single action game that lets you shoot a gun from the first or third person, out of this sense of obligation to always complement a strong story component with some rote deathmatch modes.

2Humanalypse Now, Strictly for my G.A.M.E.R.Z.
(via GiantBomb) - For the record, Kevin's rad, and I will fight anyone who claims otherwise. Ever since we all went nuts and bought iPhone 3Gs around here, I've become way hooked on the Facebook app. It's been pretty addictive, watching what the people that I know are up to. Usually, it's just a bunch of minor stuff, like people saying that they're going to a movie, or someone saying that he's "hella working" or something like that.

Review of 1942: Joint Strike
(via GiantBomb) - Platform: (PSN,XBLM) Is it just me, or did someone at Capcom wake up earlier this year ago and say "hey, wait, don't we own the rights to a bunch of great arcade games? Let's start remaking them!" In my mind, that's the only possible explanation for the attention Capcom's been paying to its back catalog lately.

Resident Evil Auf Deutsch
(via GiantBomb) - It's not actually in German, but Capcom dropped this new story-focused Resident Evil 5 trailer to go along with the Leipzig Games Convention. (There's also a better high-def version courtesy of GameTrailers.)   The fiction has never been Resident Evil's strongest suit--the story in 4 was pretty damn absurd, when you get down to it--so I'm not even going to try to figure out who the dude in the cloak is here, or whether that raven-haired femme fatale is supposed to be Ada Wong or not.

Your Early Morning Germany Wrap-Up
(via GiantBomb) - While sane people like you and me were asleep in our beds, Germany was busy putting it down big time with the Leipzig Games Convention. And I guess by big time I mean "there's some stuff there, but 90 percent of it was at E3." Rather than go and wander around looking for that 10 percent of newness, we decided to hang back and save ourselves for the Penny Arcade Expo.
