Realtime Worlds Picks Nvidia's PhysX For APB
(via Gamasutra) - Nvidia says that Realtime Worlds will use its PhysX technology on its upcoming Unreal Engine 3 multiplayer title, APB (All Points Bulletin), which will use its physics effects for explosions, car accidents and character reactions when hit. PhysX consists of a middleware engine, API and middleware platform compatible with Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, and Nvidia says the tech can run on either the CPU or any CUDA general-purpose parallel processor, including its .

Atari Announces Heroes Over Europe
(via Gamasutra) - Atari has announced a sequel to combat flight simulator Heroes of the Pacific -- the new title, called Heroes over Europe, is due out next year on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game will be developed by California-based Red Mile Entertainment, who worked on the console versions of the original (Australian company Transmission Games, formerly IR Gurus, produced the PC version).

Capcom To Publish Grand Theft Auto IV In Japan
(via Gamasutra) - Capcom says it will publish Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV in Japan and has set a release date of October 30th, 2008 for localized versions to be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As in the rest of the world, previous games in the series have courted considerable controversy in Japan, with two of the country's 47 prefectures banning Grand Theft Auto III on PlayStation 2 from sale.
