News: MacDonald: Motion control will present challenge for Sony and MS

Brand sparking new Rocket Knight art
(via Xbox 360 Fanboy) - click to rocket-size We're going to level with you: There's not a lot of new info to be found in the latest batch of character art from Konami's upcoming reboot of Rocket Knight. The press release does mention a few of Sparkster's abilities. While most should be familiar to players -- wall ricochet jumps, etc -- one new addition is the "burst vortex," which can reflect projectiles back toward enemies.

News: Bungie saddened by Xbox Live switch off
(via Game Industry) - Developer Bungie has said that's its saddened players will no longer be able to take part in Halo 2 online multiplayer matches, as Microsoft intends to shut down the original Xbox Live service in April. Last week Microsoft said it would flick the switch on the service to make way for improvements and features on Live for the Xbox 360 – no Xbox games played on either the old or current hardware, nor Xbox Originals purchased over Xbox Live, will be playable online from April 15.

News: EA - Console revenue down 30% in Q3
(via Game Industry) - EA's console revenue dropped 30 per cent in the third quarter of fiscal 2010, according to the company's latest financials, while handheld and mobile revenue was down 27 per cent. Sales from all three of the home console dropped almost equally - by 22 per cent for Xbox 360, 23 per cent for Wii and 21 per cent for PlayStation 3.

Dead Space Extraction, Planet Cracker Coming To XBLA, PSN? Rumor

Recent surveys point to an Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network port of Wii misfire Dead Space Extraction and something brand new, Planet Cracker. One survey's description of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 port of Dead Space Extraction indicates that any planned port of the game would feature the same on-rails "guided first-person experience" gameplay, pitched as an "interactive horror experience" in "full HD.
