Popular baddies like Goombas, Piranhas and Koopas have carved out quite a place for themselves in the franchise, such that we've come to expect them anywhere we see Mario himself.

Nintendo: Wii Music won't compete with the music game market
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News, Interviews We would think so, considering that Wii Music is less of a game, and more of a toy, which makes it better than a game. Sorry for being so cynical, but come on, you have to be feeling the same way we do. But, onto the news at hand. Nintendo thinks Wii Music won't be competing with other music titles such as Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

de Blob moving as quickly as de Blur
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: VideoIt took us a long time to figure out exactly how to describe de Blob in terms of existing games, but we think we've finally nailed what seems so familiar about it: it's part Sonic Adventure (the good parts, with Sonic in them) and part Jet Set Radio. Not just in terms of the art direction and the painting motif, but in terms of bouncing quickly around a cityscape seeking out surfaces to cover.

Sing along to the Captain Rainbow theme
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News, Imports, Video Because seriously, what else is there to do on a Friday evening that's more fun? Nothing, that's what. Socializing? Pah, whatever! This theme tune and its accompanying video appeared today on the brand new official Captain Rainbow site. There's not much at the site right now, but thankfully the song is as bizarre as everything else in this barmy game, not to mention catchy and even uplifting (like all good superhero themes).
