E308: This trailer tells the Little King's Story
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Video We were sorely disappointed when we couldn't get our hands on Little King's Story, but Marvelous and XSEED managed to make up for it a little bit with this enchanting trailer. We just can't help but be lured in by the game's style -- check out the knight using a cow as a mount, for example.

E308: NHL 2K9 demo gets us pumped for hockey
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Video We haven't highlighted many sports games at E3 (unless you count Wii Sports Resort), but NHL: 2K9 is different, as it's the first legitimate hockey game to hit Nintendo's console. We are some very hockey-starved individuals, so we're keeping a cautious eye on this one.

Ubisoft: E3 timing 'not appropriate'
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: NewsSpeaking to Gamesindustry.biz, Ubisoft's Alain Corre said that the location and timing of this year's E3 was "not appropriate" for the event -- he wants it earlier (as in, back in May) and bigger. Basically, back the way it was, where Ubisoft could get a spot on the massive show floor and put on a glorious gaming spectacle.

E308: Glorious Mega Man 9 boxart
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News Ultrasound graphics synthesis! 8-bit fidelity engine! We have always been of the opinion that even downloadable games should have boxart. Capcom agreed, putting together this mix of the original Mega Man game's North American packaging and Mega Man 2's PAL cover.

Rumor: Play PSP games on Wii before they're ported
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Rumors, Homebrew The portbuster may have arrived -- according to the French TeamShift site, they've created an early version of a PSP emulator for Wii. Normally, we wouldn't report on such a thin rumor (there's only a single suspect photograph and a statement), but the idea of surpassing the flood of ports and going directly to the source is actually pretty amusing.

E308: Check out screens from Lightsaber Duels
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Screens Never really watched The Clone Wars show, so obviously, the art style for the games is a little, uh, striking. Okay, let's be honest -- if you're not accustomed to it, it's ugly. But now that we're seeing some screens from the game, the look is starting to seem normal.

NPD says: A winner is Wii in the U.S.
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: NewsOne of the benefits of being a major company is that you get to find out things first -- like how much stuff you sold. When the NPD Group informed Nintendo of the most recent figures, the Big N sent a love text to our Joystiq overlords, bragging about their current sales standings in the U.

E308: Naruto believes in this new trailer
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News, Video If all-out battle royales are your thing, you might want to check out the above trailer for Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2. It seems to meld the finesse of a fighting game with the brutality of a brawler, and evidently does a pretty good job of it.

All videos and no play makes Tales a wanted game
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News, Video You don't have time to be reading this. In fact, by spending valuable seconds reading this very sentence, you have wasted enough time to insult these new Dawn of the New World trailers by not giving them your undivided attention. This massive RPG loves spamming fans with countless videos, and we don't like it.

Wii Fanboy presents: A curious lack of Game Night
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Game Night With JC and Dave in LA for E3, and the rest of us scrambling about to pick up the pieces, this week's Game Night is a no go -- at least for us. However, the chat room is still there, just for you, in case you want to get together with some other fanfolk and play games (or perhaps discuss a few things).

Gradius is reborn on WiiWare
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News, WiiWare You can certainly make an argument that the Wii doesn't need any more digital side-scrolling shooters, since a plethora of options are offered on the Virtual Console. Yet, we think when it comes to the Gradius series, you might be willing to make an exception.

E308: Dog-suited hands-on with Wii Music
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News Even after playing three or four songs in Wii Music, I still don't entirely get it. Not Miyamoto's whole idea of making a vaguely game-like multi-instrument musical toy -- that's pretty neat. I mean how to play Wii Music. Each instrument (there were 26 in the demo) has a different gestural play method in which you move the Wiimote and Nunchuk around to imitate the motions involved in playing the instrument.

Goo-d news for Roogoo gurus
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News What is a Roogoo, exactly? Well, it's not quite a kangaroo, not quite a pile of goo, but ... we have no idea. While everyone stumbles around trying to figure out these mysterious things, SouthPeak Games had an idea of its own -- bring the colorful puzzler to Wii and DS!Previously available on XBLA, the Wii version will naturally use motion controls for its core gameplay.

E308: Wii Fanboy takes the whip to Castlevania Judgment
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: FeaturesClick to take a photo tour of Konami's E3 booth I don't have to tell you how odd it is to see the Castlevania franchise make a leap into the 3D fighter space. It's not so much odd as it's completely unbelievable. Now, I'm willing to give anything the benefit of the doubt, and I did just that going into my play session.

E308: A respectable little pile of Castlevania Judgment videos
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Video We've already documented our feelings about Castlevania's transformation into a 3D fighting game, but it wasn't until this morning that we got a proper look at the game in motion. It's not actually all that bad! Okay, so the lip-synching is a bit off, most of the lines positively reek of cheese ("I'm a Belmont -- that's my job"), and some of the voice acting makes the guy behind Leon Kennedy seem almost De Niro-esque.

Virtually Overlooked: Aerobiz Supersonic
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Virtually OverlookedI know what you're thinking upon seeing Aerobiz Supersonic as the chosen title for Virtually Overlooked. While some of you dapper readers might have played the game and can't wait to read and reminisce, most of you (if you've noticed the byline) are probably hoping for JC's swift return to the column next week.

Reminder: Get your party on with us tonight
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Meta Hey, did you know that today is the last day of E3? That means we're going to be cutting loose this evening and having a good time. Won't you join us? You should join us. There'll be tons of free swag up for grabs! If that isn't reason enough for you to get over here, then we're concerned for you and your sense of value.

E308: Wii Fanboy hands-on with Wii Sports Resort
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Features Going into our play session yesterday, we didn't have high hopes for the fun factor of NIntendo's expected sequel. In watching it at Nintendo's E3 keynote, we thought that cutting wood on the beach didn't really look that fun and a sort of dumbed down Wave Race experience seemed like a bad addition.

Wii Warm Up: Pikmin vs. Animal Crossing
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Wii Warm UpOne was casually dropped, a tossed bone, if you will, and the other had all the muted spectacle of Nintendo's E3 showing this year. They're both colorful and take anthropomorphism to new, weird levels. Neither one of them is Kid Icarus. It's Pikmin versus Animal Crossing, and we want to know where you stand.

E308: Animal Crossing to support keyboards, save fruit-picking time
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News All Animal Crossing games are wonderful, but that's not all they have in common: as it happens, each game in the series to date has featured an unwieldy, cumbersome user interface. Every tool and item can only be selected by opening a totally separate menu, you can't skip through any of the game's (oft-repeated) dialogue, and writing letters/entering text is a royal pain in the backside, thanks to the excruciatingly annoying on-screen keyboard.

E308: Wii Fanboy hands-on with Wario Land: Shake It
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: FeaturesHands down, Wario Land: Shake It! is the best game I've played so far here at E3. And, thanks to my persistence and rudeness, I was able to enjoy the game a lot longer than most others who've been fortunate enough to play it, not only enjoying some of the game's normal levels, but also taking part in an underwater excursion in Wario's badass sub.

E308: Making Iwata cry in Animal Crossing: City Folk
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News By now, you've read about the new city in Animal Crossing: City Folk. The itinerant characters like Gracie and Lyle now have their own shops in the new "City" area. Two new locations in the city, as I found in my hands-on session, combine to form a shortcut to hilarity.

Zack and Wiki still need your help ... for only $10
(via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Sales You know what you've forgotten to do this week? Amidst all that hustle and bustle of E3, you haven't had time for anything else except a few rounds of Smash Bros, possibly to let off some steam after getting all distraught over Nintendo's press conference.
