E308: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 trailer is less than ultimate (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Video
We don't mind short trailers, and we don't mind teasers, but we were hoping to see a bit more from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. We had a lot of fun with the first game, and we want to get hyped about the second, but it's hard when all we see is about nine seconds of non-action footage.
E308: Wii Music trailer (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Video
Nintendo just released new footage from Wii Music, which got a lot more interesting (and it was already neat!) now that we know it will also use the Balance Board. That's good news for everyone who didn't have room for yet another drumkit ... but not as good as this video.
Agatha Christie burns us all with Evil Under the Sun (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: NewsA good murder calls for a glass of fine wine, a monocle and perhaps a strapping butler, ready to answer all questions concerning dastardly deeds. Luckily for adventure fans, Agatha Christie is happy to deliver mountains of murder, mystery and intrigue with the upcoming PC port of Evil Under the Sun.
E308: WiiSpeak brings yet another power brick to the table? (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Peripherals
When the WiiSpeak peripheral was unveiled for Animal Crossing: City Folk, we were happy to finally get voice chat on our Wii. But, a curious slide at the conclusion of Nintendo's E3 keynote showed the device has a very peculiar brick-like adapter that the USB end's cable plugs into.
Brawl Stage of the Week: Galaxy Arena (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Brawl Stage of the Week
We wanted something pure today, something easy -- a stage that's just meant for brawling. We didn't need any gimmicks, or any crazy architecture and stage design. Our one prerequisite for this week was to find a stage that was fun to fight on, period.

Blue Oasis footage is relaxing, blue (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Video
Blue Oasis looks like just the kind of thing we could use to contain our CONSTANT ATTACKS OF RAGE. A relaxed Josh from WiiFolder has carried out one of his excellent video tours of the game (we've slotted the video after the break, due to sizing issues), covering its impressively customizable aquariums, the decent range of fish (there are around fifty, some of which must be unlocked), and the ability to share your aquarium with friends via WiiConnect24.

E308: Ghostbusters busting ghosts, faces (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News, Screens
Ghostbusters could be good, but the antics of Slimer and the gang might not make a smooth video-gamerial transition. If you watch the above trailer, peruse the new gallery and your head doesn't explode, there's a chance for success in an otherwise disappointing scenario.
E308: First Animal Crossing: City Folk footage (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Video
Perhaps the least surprising choice Nintendo could have made for an E3 reveal was Animal Crossing: City Folk ... at least, until they got to the voice chat. That was a pretty huge coup that seemingly came out of nowhere. But don't let that distract you from the heart of the game: digging, decorating, and socializing.
E308: Wii Music this year, with Balance Board support (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: NewsWii Music has finally been (roughly) dated, and it looks even better than we expected! The game, which will include more than 50 instruments and Balance Board support, is set for release this year. During the E308 conference, it was announced that the game would be available without the Wii MotionPlus add-on, but will still translate motions similar to those used to play real instruments.

E308: Call of Duty: World at War to utilize Zapper (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News

E308: WiiSpeak to be sold separately for $29.99 (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News
We hope you didn't get your hopes up by thinking that the Wii's newly revealed "room-to-room" microphone peripheral, WiiSpeak, would be bundled with copies of Animal Crossing: City Folk! No, Nintendo loves making money much too much, and they have to pay for that 800-foot wire somehow.

E308: Hey, disgruntled Nintendo fans -- remember Wario Land? (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Screens
Though it didn't get so much as a syllable in the Nintendo presser earlier today, Wario Land: Shake It remains very much in our thoughts. It's not slipped Nintendo's mind either, for the company belched out fresh screens and character art for its 2D platformer earlier today.
Famicom leaves college and settles in to a secure office job (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News, Fan stuffTime to get nostalgic, proud, and teary-eyed all at the same time. On this fifteenth day of July in the year 2008, the legendary Famicom turns 25 years young. Some of us (though not all of us) weren't even born when the Famicom was released in Japan in 1983, and that day marked the beginning of Nintendo's plot of world domination.

E308: Wii Sports Resort announced (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News
To some, Wii Sports is almost synonymous with the Wii itself, so you can paint us totally unamazed to hear that there'll be a follow-up. Wii Sports Resort will launch in Spring 2009, shipping with one of those fancy new Wii MotionPlus add-ons and a special Wii Remote jacket to house your elongated Wiimote.
E308: Wii Sports Resort bundle gets priced? (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: News
According to Gizmodo, you'll be shelling out the usual AAA Wii price when snagging Wii Sports Resort this spring. The bundle, which includes the new Wii MotionPlus adapter, will cost $49. This all came from a nameless Nintendo exec, apparently.Seeing as how the original Wii Sports fetched the same price in Japan, and was eagerly lapped up there, we wouldn't be surprised if this was the case.
E308: Wii Fanboy on day two (via Nintendo Wii Fanboy) - Filed under: Meta
The big event -- Nintendo's media briefing -- finally arrived, and there was much rejoicing. Not quite as much as there could have been, though. A few counted-on announcements were suspiciously absent. Guess we'll be waiting a little longer for some things after all, so it's a good thing that you can still get your instant gratification somewhere .
